A woman’s corpse was reportedly found in trash in the parking lot of an Advance Auto Parts shop in South Hempstead, according to News 12 sources. Police claim that at approximately 7:30 in the morning, they received a call reporting an incident on Grand Avenue, five blocks south of Sunrise Highway.

On Tuesday, murder investigators were there for more than 12 hours. Albert Shillingford, who lives just across the street from the murder site, said that loud music and drug usage have been persistent problems in the parking lot.

On March 2, Andrew D. Avila, 25, of Elmont, was accused of killing her. Officers were contacted in response to a complaint that a lady had been discovered unresponsive next to trash behind Advanced Auto Parts, located at 1140 Grand Avenue. The lady, Carlson, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Police.

According to murder investigators, the Nassau County Medical Examiners’ Office eventually determined that Carlson’s death was a homicide. Avila will be arraigned on a charge of second-degree murder on Friday, March 3 in Hempstead.
