His later publications include Narcotica, Ekstasis, and Blood of the Air. He was present when beatnik poet Allen Ginsberg gave the first public reading of “Howl,” an iconic work of the Beat generation. He published his first poem when he was fifteen years old. Soon thereafter, he left his California high school to pursue a literary career in New York City.
