Jeff Lewis Jokes About Josh Duhamel’s Age Difference with Audra Mari
Josh Duhamel found himself in an uncomfortable spot. Jeff Lewis, known for his sharp wit, didn’t hold back on teasing him about his 21-year age gap with his wife, Audra Mari.
Lewis, 51, was relentless. The pair were filming a scene for Season 2 of Lewis’ Amazon Freevee show, “Hollywood Houselift.” He took every opportunity to poke fun at Duhamel for having a much younger spouse.
The home renovator even offered some unsolicited advice. “I think this marriage could last if you listen to us,” he joked, standing with his team and Duhamel in the actor’s overcrowded closet.
Lewis didn’t stop there. “We could’ve saved the first one,” he added, causing Duhamel to chuckle, “but you know what, here we are. Live and learn!”
Duhamel’s first marriage was to pop singer Fergie. They were together from January 2009 to November 2019 and share a 10-year-old son named Axl.
After his divorce, Duhamel found love again. He tied the knot with former beauty pageant queen Mari, who will be 29 in January, in September 2022.
Lewis, 53, was curious about Mari’s whereabouts. “Where is she today?” he asked. Duhamel revealed that Mari, who is pregnant with their first child, was finishing school.
Lewis couldn’t resist another joke. “High school?” he asked, causing Duhamel to laugh.
The “All My Children” alum explained that Mari was in fact getting her business degree. But Lewis had another quip ready. “Is she in a sorority?” he wondered aloud, causing a smiling Duhamel to pan to the camera and beg, “Can we cut for a second?”
Duhamel and Mari started dating around May 2019. However, they weren’t seen packing on the PDA until October of that year. Duhamel popped the question in January 2022.
The couple announced they were expecting a baby in September. Duhamel shared Axl’s “really sweet” reaction to the news. “He’s like, ‘Wait, now, am I going to be — You’re still going to love me, though, too, right?’” he recalled his firstborn asking.
Duhamel, the “Love, Simon” actor, assured his son of his love. He also predicted that Axl, who “loves babies,” is “going to be a great older brother.”
