Brooks was selected as a replacement for a short notice to take on Roberto Sanchez on September 8 in 2018 at UFC 228. He was victorious in the fight by split decision.

After being released from the UFC, Brooks signed with Rizin FF and made his promotional debut against Haruo Ochi at Rizin 18 on August 18, 2019. The bout ended in a no contest due to an accidental headbutt early in the first round.

Jarred Brooks (born May 2, 1993) is an American fighter currently competing in the Flyweight division of Rizin Fighting Federation. A professional competitor since 2014, he has also competed for the UFC, Pancrase and the World Series of Fighting. He is ranked as the world’s best strawweight (121.9 lbs or below) by Fight Matrix as of 18 April 2020.

On the 7th of November in 2018, it was announced that Brooks was let go from UFC.

Brooks was scheduled to take on Ian McCall on February 11 in 2017 on the card at UFC 208. But, McCall was pulled from the fight on the day it was set to begin because of a stomach illness.

Brooks was expected to face Hector Sandoval on June 1, 2018 at UFC Fight Night 131. However, Sandoval was removed from the bout on May 22 for undisclosed reasons and replaced by promotional newcomer Jose Torres. Brooks lost the fight in round two after he attempted to slam Torres, but accidentally knocked himself out in the process.
