Personal lifeOn April 19, 1988, Torres married singer-songwriter David Lucero. Her single "Te Juro" was written for Lucero in 1994; Torres wrote the song "to assure him that he was my one and only". In 2014, Lucero was arrested during a prostitution sting conducted by the San Antonio Police Department.
She and Lucero, who has been her manager for years, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary and plan to formally renew their vows in the near future. He even presented her with a new ring. For the time being, there are no plans to leave the stage.
