Dave Hollis, a self-help author and former Disney distribution executive, died at the age of 47. Because Hollis, who was last seen the previous evening, was “young and didn’t have an extensive medical history,” Cable said an autopsy would be performed to determine the cause of death. Hollis’ ex-wife, best-selling novelist Rachel Hollis, said the family was “devastated.”

The parents of four moved from Los Angeles to the Austin area to collaborate on podcasts, live streams, and life-celebrating conferences. Their podcast “Rise Together” has a marriage-related theme. Rachel Hollis announced their divorce on Instagram in 2020, after working “endlessly” for three years to make it work.
She explained that they decided “it is healthier and more respectful for us to choose this as the end of our journey as a married couple” after working “endlessly” to make their marriage work.
