Deputies responded to a 911 call and located Robert Spohr deceased from a single gunshot wound.
Wendy, who received two gunshot wounds to the head, entered a nursing home after undergoing extensive surgery and rehabilitation. According to CCTV footage, a man in a gray sweatshirt and a white neck gaiter approached the victims’ home before the shooting.
Even though detectives suspected a targeted attack, no suspects had been identified at the time. In July 2023, Erin Serapini, formerly Erin Spohr, disclosed her profound anguish and lack of understanding about her parents’ assailant.
“I had no idea who was to blame for what happened to my parents. I regret not knowing. I missed my parents and wished they could have witnessed the growth of my children.”
Danny Serafini and Samantha Scott were detained as suspects two years later. While the cause is unknown, it’s worth mentioning that Danny Serafini, who co-starred with Erin on the reality show “Bar Rescue,” acknowledged substantial financial losses, including a $14 million loss in “bad investments and a bitter divorce settlement” when his major league career ended.
