Additionally, Tyler hosts Eye on New York, a half-hour weekly community affairs show for WCBS and numerous local specials each year: CBS 2 at Tonys, CBS 2 at the Met and Tunnel to Towers Run. Tyler began his career at WCBS as an anchor for the weekend and later as reporter on the 16th of July in 1990.
The year 2000 was the first time she appeared in the role of herself in the 2000 episode of Everybody Loves Raymond in the episode “Robert’s Rodeo,” promoting an upcoming story on the news featuring a video of the bull chased by the police officer – the officer was Robert Barone.

Tyler was born within Worthington, Ohio and attended Worthington High School. After having graduated at Boston University, she began her career with WBNS-TV which was located in Columbus, Ohio before moving to WCBS in the year 1990 as a anchor for the weekend and reporter. Together with Reggie Harris, she was one of the first African American team in the New York market to anchor the newscast. She was soon promoted to anchor the newscasts at 5:00 p.m. as well as 11:00 p.m. anchors for the 1993 newscasts.
